The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), through the NAP-Ag Programme, is pleased to invite you to the webinar on “Economics of adaptation in agriculture,” which will be held on Wednesday, 12 October from 14:00-15:30 (CEST-Rome).

The objectives of the webinar are to:

  • Explain how observational and experimental impact assessment techniques can be used by policymakers to determine the most effective adaptation activities;

  • Provide practical steps of implementing a cost-benefit analysis, including individual versus social costs and benefits;

  • Explain how adaptation options can be prioritized and how impact assessments and cost-benefit analyses relate to the overall National Adaptation Plan (NAP) process; and

  • Hear how Uruguay has used these techniques to evaluate agriculture projects.

If interested, we kindly request that you register for the webinar here: http://bit.ly/2dC0zj1

The webinar is being organized for stakeholders interested in learning more about the economics of adaptation in agriculture, particularly those currently working in  ministries of agriculture and environment, planning and budgeting, and finance.

This webinar marks the start of a series of events to exchange and discuss topics related to the integration of the agriculture sectors in the NAP process. Each webinar will feature a presentation on a selected topic and will be followed by a country case study.

We strongly encourage you to view the list of other topics that will be presented in the series.

We are very much looking forward to your participation on Wednesday, 12 October at 14:00 (CEST).
