Tine Rossing

Senior Technical Advisor, Climate Change Adaptation, Resilience and NbS

I am an accomplished professional with 27+ years of technical expertise in Nature-based Solutions for climate resilience (adaptation and disaster risk reduction), community-based adaptation, biodiversity conservation and restoration, regenerative agriculture, gender mainstreaming, monitoring & evaluation, and capacity development.

Since 2009, while working with CARE, UNDP, IUCN, UNEP and GIZ in different capacities, I have played a leadership role globally in helping to define, promote and implement Nature-based Solutions to climate change. In my capacity as CARE International’s Global Climate Change Adaptation Coordinator, I spearheaded the integration of nature-based approaches into the Confederation’s community-based adaptation programme portfolio. While Knowledge Manager for a global IUCN-UNDP-UNEP Ecosystem- based Adaptation (EbA) Learning Programme, I led development and dissemination of new learning on Nature-based Approaches to climate adaptation based on pilot activities in Nepal, Uganda and Peru. For GIZ, I helped develop and co-facilitate the global EbA Community of Practice that has developed guidelines and training materials for the design and implementation of EbA and Eco-disaster risk reduction.

I have an excellent and demonstrated command of different learning approaches. I also have a proven track record of developing and delivering flexible, interactive and module-based climate change-related training materials that are designed with the capacity to be tailored to particular needs, backgrounds and contexts of different target audiences. I have designed and facilitated numerous training processes, both in person and virtually, with a wide range of stakeholders, including project teams, government counterparts and other key stakeholders, in diverse cultural settings. My work has spanned 32 countries across North America, Africa, Asia and Latin America.
