Description:

Join us for a presentation of the latest data on climate finance flows into Southern Africa, revealing trends and observations relevant to institutions and governments seeking to access climate finance. This will be followed by a brief presentation of research undertaken by the Southern African Climate Finance Partnership (SACFP) to determine the capacity needs of institutions seeking to access and implement finance from the Green Climate Fund (GCF).

The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion that will include several esteemed panelists (listed below). The dialogue will explore institutional capacity needs and the emerging skillsets required by practitioners to access and implement these novel resources successfully, along with the opportunities for addressing these needs in practice.

The webinar will include an opportunity for a question and answer session, ensuring participants leave with a stronger understanding of how to approach capacity enhancement to achieve better access to climate finance.

This webinar is the first in a series of upcoming events convened by the SACFP. These events aim to improve participants’ understanding of how to access climate finance to unlock projects that address national climate change priorities and provide bankable investment opportunities.
